Campaign Results
The official campaign has wrapped up at 97% of the $330,000 goal, although we are still accepting donations.
United Way of Williams County volunteers gathered at Bryan Ford Lincoln Mercury on Tuesday, January 26th to honor outstanding results during Campaign 2009. The campaign, led by Tom and Dee Balser generated $317,741 for Williams County neighbors-in-need.
Twenty-four organizations received awards for their performance during Campaign 2008. These companies raised more than $194,000, or more than 60% of the total campaign.
"AMAZING, it's the word that comes to mind when we reflect on the 2009 United Way drive. We have had the privilege of meeting and working with amazing people, organizations, and generous supporters," said Mrs. Balser.
"We would like to extend our thanks to Chris Malanga and Pam Schroeder for their tireless efforts, the United Way Board and members of the campaign committee for their support and encouragements, the corporations and individual givers for their generosity... each and everyone," Mr. Balser added.

Certificates honoring media were presented as well.
Chris Malanga, United Way CEO remarked that while Williams County was short of their goal, in this economy everyone should be proud.
"Just for comparison's sake, other United Way organizations in our region have experienced similar struggles this year. Defiance County is still working on their campaign, but currently is $97,000 below goal. Henry County didn't set a goal, and finished about $3,000 higher than last year. Fulton County had a tough year, finishing $23,000 below goal. As you can see, we are not along in our struggles."
Mr. Balser summed it up best when he said, "Thank you Williams County for stepping up and proving again we are all part of making our country/community a terrific place in which to live.
