Leadership Giving
Many United Way of Williams County volunteers have recognized the need
to honor the largest contributors to the annual appeal.
During
the fall, 2002 campaign, the United Way Leadership Circle was formed.
Every year, individuals who contribute a gift of $500 or more are
recognized as part of the Leadership Circle. Thomas M. Herman of Andres
O’Neil and Lowe Agency has played an instrumental role in developing
this leadership giving program, and has continued to lead solicitation
efforts during each campaign.
In the four years since the Leadership Circle was established,
leadership giving has increased tremendously. Last year, leadership
giving made up more than 40 percent of all campaign contributions.
In recognition of Mr. Herman’s United Way contributions - both in
dollars and volunteer hours, the Board of Trustees voted to rename the
Leadership Circle to the “Thomas M. Herman Leadership Giving Society.”
This honor was bestowed upon Mr. Herman at the United Way 2006 Annual
Dinner.
Leadership Giving Levels
Even with a successful campaign and excellent corporate support, there
are still unmet needs. Individual financial generosity makes all of the
difference in helping more people. Corporate leaders and community
champions give more than their share on an annual basis, will you? We will recognize you for your donation in various printed articles, on our web site and in the recognition program.
