Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees is a group of volunteers legally responsible for making sure the organization remains true to the mission, safeguards United Way assets, and operates in the public interest.

Board members serve a variety of functions: 

• Help to determine the organization's mission and purpose

• Select the CEO

• Support the CEO and review his or her performance

• Ensure effective organizational planning

• Ensure adequate resources

• Manage resources effectively

• Determine, monitor, and strengthen the organization's programs and services

• Enhance the organization's public standing

• Ensure legal and ethical integrity and maintain accountability

• Recruit and orient new board members and assess board performance

The local United Way board meets monthly, on the third Tuesday at Noon in the United Way office.  

United Way is making a strong push to recruit board members from all areas within our county. If you'd like to join the board or have a recommendation for us, please let us know.
