Marketing Committee
Purpose Statement:
To generate and sustain community understanding, awareness, support and
commitment for United Way of Williams County through effective, year-round marketing
strategies.
Structure:
The team is made up of Williams County volunteers who want to give back to their
community and be involved with United Way. Team members must be genuinely
interested in educating Williams County about United Way goals. They are to be
committed to, and actively involved in promoting United Way to all communities. They
are to be passionate about conducting fun, community-wide events.
The Marketing Chairperson is to serve a term of two years, reporting to the United Way
CEO and Board of Directors at the monthly board meetings.
Team members serve one-year terms, renewable indefinitely at their discretion.
Meetings are held monthly, on the 2nd Friday at 8:00 am in the United Way office.
Roles and Responsibilties:
- Raise awareness of United Way, its programs and services and achievements.
- Provide volunteer support at events and solicit donations when needed.
- Set specific and general public relations objectives and timetables in which to
accomplish them.
- Seek opportunities for strategic alliances and partnerships to promote
United Way.
- Periodically review the organization’s literature and marketing materials with the
goal of ensuring that consistent, positive messages support the United Way’s
overall image.
- Help identify the organization’s various audiences to whom different messages
are targeted and how these messages are to be communicated (advertising,
direct mail, press releases, etc.)
- Encourage community involvement with United Way programs.
